Weather in Madrid

Madrid enjoys a continental climate, with cold winters and very hot but dry summers. Highs can reach 44°C in July and August. Although very hot in the summer, it's a very dry heat, and the cooler evenings are when the locals come out and party until the morning. The temperature can get minus in the winter, but by March, the weather improves rapidly towards the summer. Madrid enjoys a large proportion of sunshine days, meaning that even in the middle of winter, it will feel very warm in the direct sunshine.
