Thanks from all of us for making it an enjoyable and memorable weekend. The archery/Baja Beach Club on the Friday was an excellent night out...not that many of us can remember too much about the latter stages of it.
The drinking whilst doing the archery was superb and is certainly something that would never be allowed in the UK! The Bagdad cafe was certainly one of the highlights of the weekends, particularly for one of our group, who enjoyed himself in there probably more than he should have.

Poker Evening

Enjoy a 3 hour private poker tournament run for you by Senor Stag in a central Madrid bar. For poker 1st timers as well more experienced players, this is a great value way of firing up the competitive spirit in the stag group with the ultimate strategy game of them all.
To start with, your Senor Stag guide will meet you at your central accommodation and take you to a central bar where you will have a private area roped off for you. Included is a welcome drink on the house, but we recommend keeping the mind sharp and the drinks non-alcoholic (ish!) if you´re to stand a chance of winning the poker tournament. |
Your poker croupier will spend the first 30 minutes going through the basics of how to play Texas Hold 'Em poker, along with how the tournament will work. Experienced players should help the poker 1st timers to understand how to play as well at this stage.
The tournament will then start with everyone receiving a pile of chips to play with. The tournament will last 3 hours, with extra chip buy-in allowed in the first hour, and the ante (min bet) going up every 20 minutes to increase the pressure and squeeze out those conservative players! During the tournament, a table service will be available so that drinks can be ordered, and smoking can be enjoyed whilst playing as well. |

At the end of the tournament, a 2 man show down will ultimately result in a winner who will receive a prize along with the smug smile on his face for the rest of the evening. For legal reasons, Senor Stag can not allow any money to be played for. However, this doesn't stop you as a group of friends running your own "poker pot" on the side.
This has gone done really well with previous groups, and it's surprising how often the poker rookie wins in the end - beginners' luck or a quick learner?! A good time to run the poker tournament is from 17.00-21.00, filling that twlight gap before restaurants open in Spain where many a stag group has come unhinged by drinking too soon before the night life begins. |
Options afterwards include enjoying the Senor Stag Fiesta, or even continuing the Casino Royale theme with a trip to the casino (with dinner included). All this and more can be arranged by Senor Stag in Spain - please just ask.

Senor Stag's Suggestion:
This is a great value activity which can really get the stag group animated and getting on. Many of the guys will not know each other having come from differemt parts of the stag's life.
However, get these guys playing Texas Hold 'Em together playing for a prize, and they'll be heatedly discussing into the early hours afterwards about how their strategy was so good, or how unlucky they were.
